LUCERNA MUSIC BAR

This is both a night bar and a konzert hall. About three or four times a week there perform popular, mainly Czech music bands such as Mig 21, Mnaga a Zdorp ( pop), Divokej Bill (county-rock) or some blues bands. Once a week there is 80's party- DJ Jirka Neumann. These performances start at about 9pm and last till short before midnight.

JAZZ CLUB ZELEZNA
Zelezna 16, 110 00,  Prague 1

This club is in the Old Town and can be found down a passage just off Zelezna street, but it's no tourist trap and is a discreet, cozy, reasonably priced cellar. Good music, good sound and a good atmosphere make this a popular club where you're more likely to find a local crowd. There's a small new and used CD shop on the premises too - giving you another reason to check out this friendly venue. 

ROCK CAFE

Narodni 20, 110 00, Prague 1

Music: some nice life konzerts, revival bands, DJ Murphy- residential DJ crowd: nothing special editor: it is a larger three story complex ( a konzert hall, three bars; music store; art gallery; cinema; internet cafe-80czk/h,126/kb); medium prizes ( bier about 24,-), the entry fee gives you 15 free min. of Internet and free movies, nice place to relax, but not for heavy drinkers or clubbers.

PALAC AKROPOLIS

Having housed bands such as Ween, John Cale and the Flaming Lips in the last year alone, Akropolis remains one of the premier live music venues in Prague. Two bars cater to a variety of musical tastes and the late hours are a big plus.

U STARE PANI

One of the newest jazz clubs in the city, this spot has great acoustics and is host to the best on the local jazz scene. "At The Old Lady's" is well worth the cover charge (150 Kc) which is slightly higher than in most other clubs but if you're only going to visit one jazz venue in Prague maybe this should be the one. Music usually starts at around 9pm

JAZZ CENTRUM AghaRTA

This club, named after a Miles Davis LP, is located off Wenceslas Square and one of the best places in Prague to see live jazz and blues. To a certain extent, this is everything you might expect from a Prague jazz club - small. cozy and intimate with good regular bands and a good sound. It is, however, relatively expensive and has become more of a favourite for visitors and foreigners than the locals. Bands usually start at 9 and they usually run the gamut of the jazz sound. 

REDUTA JAZZ CLUB

This club constantly reminds you that a certain W. Clinton did a turn here on a visit to Prague and as one of the most famous jazz clubs in Prague, the prices are a little prohibitive. It's got all the ingredients for a good jazz cellar and the range of bands and styles is impressive. Usually the bands start at 9:30 and they are some of the best around.
