Prague was one of the nine cities awarded the title of European City of Culture for the year 2000 by the European Community. It has many concert halls, theatres, cinemas, museums and galleries.

National Theatre
(opera or ballet) called the “Golden Chapel at the Vltava” - a theatre, which was built in 1881 by donations of the public.

Estates Theatre
(opera, ballet, drama - German or English translations possible ). It is the first theatre built of stone in Prague, in which  premiere of Don Giovanni opera took place in 1787.

State Opera House
(opera or ballet ) Theatre built in pseudo-Baroque style with rich furnishings; used to be the German Theater.
